Rain in Kerala today 2021

Rain in Kerala today 2021, The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rain in Kerala on November 14 and 15 and has issued a Red Alert for the Thiruvananthapuram district. Thiruvananthapuram is anticipated to have exceptionally heavy rains tonight and tomorrow, with scattered areas across the state expected to see heavy rain until Tuesday.

The Central Meteorological Department declared an orange notice in the districts of Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, and Idukki yesterday, as well as a yellow alert in Cochin, Calicut, Ernakulam, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Thrissur, and Kasaragod.

However, due to the impending rainfall, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has warned the public to exercise extra caution around river banks and hilly places. “In landslide and flood-prone locations, emergency relief camps will be set up. I’ve also instructed people to exercise extra caution along riverbanks, in mountainous regions, and tourist locations because heavy rain is forecast in the coming hours “CM Vijayan stated.

A low point pressure system is expected to emerge in the Andaman Sea over the Bay of Bengal within the next 12 hours, as per the reports. By November 15, it is forecast to reach the Bay of Bengal and strengthen into a severe low-pressure system. Kerala was hit by heavy rains in October, resulting in several portions of the state collapse. 42 persons were killed in rain-related incidents.

The state’s monsoon activity has resumed after a brief respite, and fishermen have been advised not to venture out into the sea after the IMD caution. Rains had triggered landslides early in the day between sections of Neyyatinkara and Parassala, as well as parts of Eraniel and Kulithurai. Between Nagercoil Station and the Kanniyakumari portion, there was also waterlogging. In the area, two trains were entirely canceled and ten were partially canceled due to safety concerns.
