Congress suspends 2 senior leaders for expressing

Congress suspends 2 senior leaders in Kerala for publicly expressing displeasure over; the All India Congress Committee selection of district chiefs of the party in the state. Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president K Sudhakaran said in a statement that former MLA K Sivadasan Nair and former KPCC general secretary KP Anil Kumar have been “temporarily suspended” from the party.

“Both showed a lack of discipline and made public statements through the media relating to the reorganization; of the District Congress Committee,” the statement said. Both K Sivadasan Nair and KP Anil Kumar strongly criticized the state leadership; over the selection of District Congress Committee (DDC) chiefs. 

The All India Congress Committee (AICC) is the praesidium or the central decision-making assembly of the Indian National Congress.

Displeasure on selection of DCC

Although there had already been criticism for the delay in finalising the list. For the 14 posts in the state, there were many contenders, with senior party leaders recommending several names. Sivadasan and Anil Kumar made scathing criticism against the state leadership over the selection of the District Congress Committee (DCC) chiefs.

 Anil Kumar reportedly told a television channel that the new list would be the “Waterloo of the Congress in Kerala; Sivadasan also made supporting comments in the same channel discussion.

Finally the Indian Congress Committee (AICC) on Saturday evening published. The list of 14 District Congress Committees in the state; following which disgruntled leaders made the remarks on a TV talk show.
