Vishishta Mahila Ratna Samman To Entrepreneur Nowhera Shaik. Heera Group claimed on its website that it was a multi-sector corporation with operations in gold imports, gold trading, textiles, jewelry, mineral water, granite, tours and trips, real estate, and e-commerce. The group’s shopping mall, Heera Mart, is located in Kukatpally, Hyderabad. According to the charge sheet filed by Telangana police at the request of investors, the investigation that followed, and the company’s declaration, the company began operations in 2008 as a small import and export company called “Hera Exim,” renting five shop spaces in Hyderabad malls, namely F1, F2, F3, F14, and F15.
The company then purchased these spaces and sold them for Rs. 4 crores to Indian Overseas Bank and Corporation Bank, which served as the group’s initial capital investment. Following that, the store relocated to Poatpally and established a massive head office and phone center in Banjara Hills, claiming to have international operations and offering small investors floating investment programs.
Smriti Irani, the Union Minister for Women and Child Development, bestowed the “Vishishta Mahila Ratna Samman” on well-known socialist Dr. Nowhera Shaik on Tuesday for her contributions to the upliftment of the suffering masses. The Confederation of All India Traders hosted the event (CAIT).
Dr. Nowhera Shaik, Executive Chairperson and Founder of Heera Group, has been fighting on behalf of women’s interests, mostly in the field of education, since she was a child. She began teaching girls about religion and scriptures at the tender age of 19. In 1998, she took the initiative to start a service-oriented education school with 150 pupils, starting with six girls. 120 kids were offered free schooling out of a total of 150.
Dr. Nowhera Shaik expressed her gratitude after collecting the award “It’s a wonderful feeling when your efforts are recognized. Though I have never sought to take up the cause of empowering women to be rewarded, I believe that making women enablers is my greatest reward. I shall continue to strive for the upliftment of the oppressed and the education of girls, as a woman’s true empowerment begins with a good education “.
She took it a step further in 2007, establishing a residential school in Chandragiri village. Dr. Shaik covered the costs of running the schools with personal donations in the beginning, but the rising costs forced her to explore additional sources of funding.
She has received numerous honors for her contributions to society, including the Mumbai Ratan Award in 2013, the Bharat Gaurav Award in 2014, the Rajiv Gandhi Shiromani Award, and others. In 2018, she was also named a Business Leadership Icon by a UAE government minister.
