Yusuff Ali: A businessman with a heart.

Yusuff Ali Musaliam Veettil Abdul Kader, also known as MA Yusuff Ali, is the richest man in Kerala.

He is heading the UAE-based LuLu Group, a company with an annual turnover of US$7.4 billion. As per the 2018 Forbes Middle East records, Yusuff Ali is the No1 Indian business owner in the Arab World. He owns various types of business all around the world. Born in a middle-class family in Kerala, Yusuff Ali completed his education at Nattika, a small town. Yusuff Ali left for Abu Dhabi with his uncle in 1973 to partner with his uncle’s small distribution business named ‘LuLu.’ With his strong business and hard work skills, he broadened the business to an international Group. His strong hands developed the business group’s import and wholesale distribution wing that launched LuLu Hypermarket in the UAE. He opened the first LuLu hypermarket in the 1990s at the height of the Gulf War. 

He is also the man behind India’s largest mall,’ LuLu Mall’ in Kochi, spread across an area of 6.2 lakh acres. LuLu Group International owns 193 stores in the Gulf and other parts of the globe. Apart from being one of the richest businessmen, Yusuff Ali is equally rich in his social activities. He is very active on the social front. He has associations with various charity organizations that provide help to millions of people. His timely activities in various incidents, including Covid-19, Kerala floods, Gujarat Earthquake, Tsunami, Uttarakhand Floods & Landslides, got widespread attention.

Yusuff Ali donated $6.8 million to Kerala in fighting the Covid-19.

He also built a treatment center with 1,400 beds in Kerala for COVID patients.He is the first person to offer help during the Calicut market fire when many people lost their livelihood. In the amnesty period in the Gulf, he helped many by providing free air tickets to hundreds of hapless Indians to fly back to India. LuLu Group has schools adopted from Nepal and Gaza as part of their CSR policy. Yusuff Ali is a very different businessman who keeps humanity as his priority. His contributions in building India are very important and have helped many in the nation from unemployment. His contribution to the development of Kerala is inevitable, including the private participation in building Kochi International Airport. He is a man with a difference. A man with a great heart.
